First Post

Well, here I am starting a blog about eating fresh, wholesome foods.  I know, I know there are a lot of them out there, but I hope that you choose to read mine.

I am attending the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, taking the night courses on Holistic Nutrition.  And boy, are you guys and my family in trouble now.  I will be changing the way my family and hopefully you, eat.

Our society is full of convenience and that has to change, this is our future health, our children's future health and the health of the planet at stake here.  We need to get back to real food, wholesome food and nutritious and healthy food.  We need to put pressure on the big corporations to start thinking of the population health and not the health of their profits.  Things are slowly turning around, we see the popularity in farmers markets, more people are buying and more farmers are selling, this is AWESOME!  A few things I can say is talk to the farmers, it's expensive to be certified "organic", most farmers already grow their produce without pesticides or herbicides.  They are very proud to talk to you about their farming ways and their produce.  If they aren't, don't buy it!

I won't be giving you advice, I don't think I can do that until I pass this course, but I will pass along my changes to our family diets, what I am learning and hopefully I will publish what I buy for food, our menu's, some tips and some recipes.  I will always credit who created the recipe and any links to websites for further information.  As I am in school at night and have a family full time, my posts for now will be sporadic, especially when I am studying for finals.  But stay tuned, I hope once I am done, I will be a wealth of knowledge, ideas, thoughts, recipes and all sorts of fun stuff.

Stay tuned!
